Here are a few of the Team Captains to look for in 2008:

Shirley Aguilar, Shirley Aguilar Consulting, has over twenty years of experience in the multi-family industry and has successfully held positions from leasing through regional vice president. She is currently a marketing and training professional for her own consulting firm. In addition to holding many industry designations she also has a communication degree from Southern Methodist University. She is active in AATC as a board member, committee co-chair, Leadership Lyceum graduate and instructor of numerous industry designation courses. Shirley has also served as a judge for the Lone Star awards and was a facilitator at AATC's first ever ThinkLink conference.

Amy Alvarez, Sales Consultant, Superior Floors, began her career in the apartment industry as a leasing consultant with JPI in 1996. After being a leasing director for JPI, Amy ventured to the vendor side as an account executive with For Rent Media Solutions where she worked as a marketing/advertising consultant as well as a trainer for their leasing classes. Amy joined the team at Superior Floors in January 2007 where she enjoys finding everyone the flooring they need. Being involved with AATC and being on the Career Development committee brings her happiness with friends in the industry. Those who know Amy, know she is positive and always likes for everyone to being having fun!

Laurie Anderson, after 8 years onsite starting as leasing consultant and working her way up to manager for large management companies, Trammel Crow and Steven D. Bell she made the move to the vendor side. She calls Superior Floors home where she loves the team work and the ability to still be involved in the apartment industry. Lauri serves on the AATC Career Development committee and looks forward to Thinklink every year!

Casey Board, Community Director for Rockwood Capital

Char Burnside-Rice, CAPS,ARM is a Regional Vice President for Sunchase American. Char’s portfolio covers Texas and Tennessee. In her 23 years of property management experience she has worked for AIMCO, AMLI Residential, and Mid-America Apartments. Her experience includes lease up communities, mixed use, tax credit, and all classes (A, B, and C). Char is very active in both AATC and AAGD. For AATC she serves as a CAM instructor, serves on the Lone Star Award Committee and is a graduate of the AATC Lyceum program. She started her Thinkink facilitator role in 2007 where she truly made magic happen. She has chaired the AAGD Education Committee and in 2006, she received the AAGD CAPS student of the year. In 2007, she participated in the NAA Lyceum program and NAA education conference committee. In 2005, Char received the NAA Professional Designate of the Year award. Char enjoys every aspect of this crazy business, but mostly enjoys watching the growth and successes of her team members.

Jeffrey Butcher, Account Executive for The Apartment Guide, has over 8 years experience in the apartment industry from onsite to vendor. Jeffrey is very involved in both AAGD and AATC. He sits on the AATC Career Development Committee. After attending the 2007 Thinklink, facilitating in the 2008 was his next stop. Passion for education is an understatement when it comes to Jeffrey. He enjoys the relationships built and developed over hard work, great results and fun.

Jennifer Campbell-Brown, is the Training Coordinator for Pace Realty. Prior to Pace, Jennifer worked for Equity Residential where she wore many hats. (Sparky likes hats, too!) She was a property manager, assistant manager, mentor and field trainer. Her passion for training is what led her to Pace.

Brenda Carpenter, CAS, Executive Vice President of Superior Floors. Brenda oversees all operations and sales for the company. Prior to joining the vendor side, Brenda spent more than 17 years on the management side of the industry with her last position being regional vice president of the southwest region for AMLI Residential. Brenda is an active member of AATC. She serves as AATC's 2008 Trade Show chair as well as career development, ThinkLink and PSC advisory board. Brenda is also a former AATC career development chair. Brenda teaches many industry-related courses, including NAA designate classes. Brenda is a dynamic trainer who can motivate even the hardest to motivate.

Lisa Clark, CAM, CAPS, is a District Manager for Steven D Bell and company. Prior to joining Bell, Lisa spent years at United Dominion where she was promoted from Manager to District Manager. She is the 2008 Supervisor of the Year, Lone Star Award Winner. She is a 2006 graduate of AATCs Leadership Lyceum program. She is an active volunteer serving on the Lyceum and Lone Star Awards committees. Lisa has facilitated 2006 & 2007 Thinklink Brainstorming Conferences.

Elizabeth DeBruine, Account Executive, Apartment Finder. Prior to joining the vendor side, Elizabeth spent years on the management side of the industry

Kelli Dowdney, Regional Training Director for Carbon Thompson Realty

Larry Duncan, CAS, CAPS Emeritus, CAMT II, of Larry Duncan Consutling,is actively involved with AATC. Larry Duncan is our most recent Jerry Earnhart Distinguished Award recipient. Larry has chaired almost every committee at the Apartments Associations. He currently chairs the Community Service committee. Larry is a graduate of the NAA Advanced Instructor Training program. He is a blast to know and you will learn so much from just talking with Larry.
Jennifer Ford, CAM, NAAEI, Regional Manager, Jennifer Ford has over 11 years multifamily experience nad currently works as a Regional Manager for JPI Management Services, Inc. Jennifer has earned her CAM, is a CAPS designate, and was selected as a National Apartment Association Faculty member earning her designation, NAAEI. She was recognized as a Shining Star in 2007 by the Apartment Association of Tarrant County.

Carrie Gebhart, Director of Sales-Fort Worth for BG Personnel, began her career in the apartment industry in 1998 as a leasing consultant in North Carolina. Prior to moving to Dallas in 2001, she received her degree in business marketing. While living in North Carolina she was very involved in the Apartment Association of Greenville where she sat on several committees. She has held all onsite positions before venturing into the vendor side of the industry working at For Rent Media Solutions as an Account Executive specializing in Marketing/Advertisings as well as a Trainer for their leasing classes. Carrie has been involved in AAGD and AATC since 2003. She currently sits on the AATC Career Development Committee and the AATC ThinkLink Task force and is a 3rd time ThinkLink Facilitator. Carrie has a passion for assisting people with advancing their careers in Property Management through development and education.

Gregory Ann Goldrick, NALP, CAPS is the Marketing Director for Simpson Property Group in Dallas. Her enthusiastic approach to multifamily training is her passion. She formerly served as the director of marketing and training for Archon Residential. She is a past chair of AATC's education committee, and currently a designate task force leader, as well as an instructor for the NALP program.

Susan Goff, NALP, Assistant Manager, Milestone Management. Susan began her career as a leasing consultant with Milestone Management after years in the restaurant industry. Her passion for customer service has lead her to teach Resident Retention classes at AATC as well as be an active member in AATC.

Jeff Hass, NALP, CAM, NAAEI Faculty, District Manager, Devonshire. Jeff's knowledge in marketing, managing and leading is extensive and impressive. He has held positions from Community Director to Vice President of Training. He led a team in Fort Smith Arkansas, but he wanted to come back to the metroplex where he joined the team at Devonshire. Jeff is proud of his designation as an Advanced Instructor on the faculty of the National Apartment Association Education Institute. Jeff is active on the AATC Career Development Committee, the Thinklink Task force and you will also see him again at this year’s Thinklink Brainstorming Conference as facilitator. Jeff's creative mind and contagious energy is evident in all he does.

Lana Hill, Management Specialist, Equity Residential. Lana’s industry experience and enthusiasm is contagious. She has been an active member at AATC and AAGD for years. She is a Diva’s Cup Captain and served as a Thinklink Facilitator in 2007.

Anita Hord, CAM, NCP, is a Vice President at Pace Realty Corporation, where she has been for the past 22 years, starting as an onsite leasing consultant in Denton while attending the University of North Texas. While in Denton, she served on the board for the Denton Apartment Association. At Pace, her responsibilities include overseeing the Affordable Housing Compliance Department specializing in Tax Credit, overseeing the Training and Education Department for both new and existing employees, and supervising a portfolio of affordable housing properties. During her tenure at Pace, she was twice named Property Manager of the year among numerous other awards and recognitions, and she is the recipient of the 2006 AATC Supervisor of the Year Lone Star Award.

Jana Mobarak, CAM, CAPS, is a regional asset director for Falkin-Platnick. She directly oversee the day to day operations of 3000 units of Multi Family Housing Developments in Texas, Arizona and Denver Regions. Jana is actively involved in AATC's career development committee. She is also the recipient of the 2007 AATC Supervisor of the Year Lone Star Award.

Deanna Moore, apartments.com, Deanna has over fifteen years of extensive experience in the property management industry with a focus in marketing and education. Prior to Apartments.com, she was the Director of Marketing & Education for a regional management company with a diversified portfolio including conventional, tax credit, senior and student assets. Prior to that, she spent several years as the Director of Marketing for a Dallas based Internet Service Provider focused on delivering high speed internet to multi-family communities nation wide. She also has a strong skill set in the development of property Websites, communications and customer service. Since joining Apartments.com Deanna has been working with clients and prospects in the DFW area to increase their online advertising return on investment, while providing effective training to help lower their cost-per-lease.

Laurie Pascoe, CAPS, CAM, offers students more than twenty years of multihousing experience. Currently she works is an asset manager for MacDonald Companies. She has served as the Director of Marketing and Training with Archon Residential, and Director of Training and Education with Pace Realty. She specializes in developing and training programs that improve and motivate willing teams. Laurie is active in the Apartment Association of Tarrant County and Apartment Association of Greater Dallas, serving as a member of the faculty and on several committees with each.

Tiffany Rash, brings over 7 years of customer service and personnel management experience to our company. Tiffany holds a CSP (Certified Staffing Professional) designation from the American Staffing Association.

Karen Schrah, Harbor Group Management. Karen is passionate about education and motivation. Karen has participated in Vendor Series executive panel as well as served as a Diva’s Cup captain. Karen is currently serving on the AATC Board of Directors.

Sarah Turner, NALP, is AATC's director of career development. She brings strong onsite, management and vendor experience to the table. Sarah was a sales consultant for Superior Floors. Previously, Sarah served as regional sales and training expert for Concord Management, Ltd. She brings to the classroom onsite experience and a energetic teaching style. While working for Simpson Property Group, she was responsible for all of the Internet marketing for the Texas Region. She was an active volunteer at AATC serving on numerous committees (golf, education, trade show, membership) as well as chairing the career development committee in 2007. Participants from her seminars will tell you that she is easy to relate to and can make learning even the most basic concepts fun.

Mike Speanberg, Regional Vice President, LeasingDesk Insurance Service, a RealPage Company Before joining Leasingdesk.com, Mike was an advertising executive with two leading apartment industry publications. These positions took him across the nation heading up grand openings in different markets. Mike began his career in sales over 20 years ago. He now travels Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi servicing his accounts with Leasingdesk.com. Mike is actively involved in AATC and serves on the Board of Directors and has chaired the golf committee which he continues to serve on. Mike is high energy and can always make you smile. You needs Sales Tips? Mike is your man.

Jodi Spurrell, CAM, CAPS Candidate, District Manager, Milestone Management. Jodi has been in the multi-family industry for over 20 years working through the ranks to her current position as District Manager over stable and lease-up communities in the DFW area. She has received many awards through her career but her Lone Star Supervisor of the Year is a highlight. Jodi is a graduate of the AATC Leadership Lyceum. Has served and chaired many AATC committees and is currently the 2007-2008 Talk Show Live chair.

Valeria Thurwanger, Product Manager, Apartamentos PARA RENTAR, A division of For Rent Media Solutions. Valeria brings with her many years in the customer service field. Valeria held many positions for Four Seasons Hotels in Mexico as well as the United States, including Front Office Manager, Reservations Manager and HR Recruitment Manager, After 7 years with Four Seasons, Valeria brought her bilingual and customer service skills to For Rent Media Solutions as product manger for Apartmentos PARA RENTAR. Valeria is an active member on the AATC Career Development Committee.

Zephi Velarde, CAM, CAPS is the Senior property manager for Verde Riverwalk Apartments. She started in the industry in 1997 where she worked in leasing and marketing for AMLI Residential. Zephi has also worked for Trammel Crow Residential and has been with United Apartment Group for five years. Her expertise includes new construction and retirement communities. Along with pursuing her CAPS designation at AATC, she was also the 2006/2007 chair for the property manager's committee.

Kimberly Waller is a Community Director at Gables Residential. She has more than 18 years experience in the multi-family industry. Previously she was a Corporate Sales Consultant for Superior Floors. Before making the move to the vendor side, Kimberly worked for Trammel Crowe Residential Services, AMLI Residential and Steven D Bell. Her onsite experience includes new construction, rehab, stabilized and affordable housing. Anyone who knows Kimberly will tell you her passion is to make everyone she is around smile.
Tracie Watt, Community Director for Milestone Management

Susan Weston, CAM, CAPS, is an experienced adapter and product of change – both controlled and uncontrolled – with over 25 years experience in the property management industry. As Regional Education Director for Pinnacle, she is responsible for education, staff development and implementing marketing strategies throughout the central region. Prior to joining Pinnacle, Susan served as the Director of Education for the National Apartment Association. Prior to her work with NAA, Susan worked with Archon Residential Management as Vice president of Operations. She also served 14 years as Vice President of Operations for Walden Residential Properties. Sue is the 2007-2008 career development chair.
