OUR MOST RECENT LETTERS TO THE LIGHT BULB:

Dear Sparky,

It's that time again. SUMMER TIME! We all know this is the busiest time of the year. We get stressed and still have to stay up with the daily activities, marketing, follow up, etc. Got any advise?

Yours Truly,
Ready for Fall

Dear Ready for Fall,

I understand your frustrations. I am writing from training camp where I have been hard at work getting prepared for the Thinklink Conference on November 18, 2008. The countdown is on!

As I was working out, I was just thinking of this busy time of year. We often get so busy with traffic coming in the door during May - July, and try to squeeze in some outreach marketing. It reminded me of some summer activates going on in your area. You have summer festivals or activates through the city. You also have new teacher in your area. Go visit those new teachers! Each school district has a new teacher meeting. Maybe contact the administrative offices and see if you can give them materials to distribute to new employees as they prepare for their new career.

Maybe water bottles for meetings, helps sponsor lunch with another community, goodie bags to make it through the day...

Below are a list of a few local school district new employee dates:

Fort Worth ISD - August 19th (Teachers Convocation)
Arlington ISD - August 16 (New Teachers)
Hurst-Euless-Bedford - August 7 (New Teachers)

Don't forget to step out of your school district. Some teachers like to live outside the district, but not to far with gas prices these days!

I look forward to seeing you at Thinklink 2008! I am excited to see our friend Jackie Ramsteadt is coming as a keynote to kick off with a seminar on Going for The Gold! The Team Captains are hard at work on solutions to "People" issues this year. How to stay motivated and still be productive, creative, etc. We are going Faster. Stronger. Higher! For more information or suggestions please email us! See you November 18th!

Dear Sparky,

I attended the Thinklink Conference on Nov 6, 2007. I had a wonderful time and got so many great ideas. Now that I have all of these great ideas, how do I put them to work at my company?

Yours Truly,
Hoping to grow

Dear Hoping to Grow

I am so glad to hear you had a good time at Thinklink 2007. The Magician Assistants put a lot of time into making your experience a good one. I have heard that people can't give away a car, like they put together at Thinklink. This is a time for you to think big! What can you do to make your community stand out. "I can't give away a car, but 2 months free washer and dryer would work with my budget and the resident could use that money the first couple months after moving costs" Any time you want to take an "idea" to a supervisor you should be prepared to give total costs, what you want to accomplish with the "idea" and how long it will take you to get the result you are suggesting. The more prepared you are the less questions there are to be asked. Be prepared for ALL questions that come your way!

I look forward to seeing you at Thinklink 2008!
